Who Left There Panties and Bra In The Tree?

By Bill Messick

For years there was this big red bra hanging in a lone tree on the lift to the top of Sundance, last year during a snow storm it blew away for good. Yea I did go looking for it with West but we never found it! Well this year there has been a lot of underwear growing in the trees like fruit but it seems to be getting picked. Today there was two pair of panties and a big white bra signed by someone?

Check out the photos and video for more on this strange thing.

A Nice 65 Degrees @ Lambert Park

I went out to Lambert Park today for a quick run around, ended up doing about three runs around it. It was about 65 degrees and the snow from 2 days before was quickly melting from the mountain tops. Sam went with me today and had fun chasing the deer around the trees, just wonder what she would do if she caught one?

For more on the ride check out the short video.

Ridge 157 South Fork 252 Loop

I need to put my bike in the shop to get a few broken spokes fixed, so I thought I would grab one more ride. So Sam and I went out to the Alpine Loop to the top where the ridge trail starts. There was a few people hanging around in the parking lot at the top. I was just in for a fast run around the loop and Sam was ready to roll. The trail is getting pretty crunchy going up, needs some rain bad, soon there will be snow up there.

Not much happened on this ride saw a few hunters and hikers and people on horseback. Did get a little video and a few pics so enjoy.

A Romp Down Bennie Creek

Bill MessickNow this is one fun but short ride if you use a shuttle to the top. Bennie Creek is located up the Nebo Loop in Payson Canyon at the Loafer Mountain Trail head. Today West, Sam and I went up there for a fast ride and that is what we got.

I had taken this ride last year with Gart when he was doing the Bike Peddler group rides, we took the lower trail with less climbing the first time. This time West and I hit the right trail that climbs, and climb it does for about a mile or so. We were beginning to think we were on the wrong trail but soon we started down and hit a sign for Bennie Creek and away we went on the fast down hill we had came for. This trail is full of twisting turns and drops off rocks and logs, not for the weak at heart for sure.

I didn’t take any time to take video or photos but I will try to do this one again soon and get something to show you.

Sam and The Blackhawk Trail

Dark-sm I took my GPS back up to the Blackhawk trail with Sam today to try and figure out what went wrong on yesterdays ride. My wonderful wife bought me a new pack with a camlebak bladder and 2 new self healing tubes, she is just to good to me. So Sam and I was set for an epic ride around the Blackhawk Trail Loop or the 101. We got up there about on the trail at about 4:50 pm GPS tracking my every move.

The first 30 min or so went pretty normal, I know this trail and was paying attention to my every move, as I stopped to to do video I would mark it on my GPS. I got around to the backside of the mountain and hit the first water crossing, I stopped and noticed a trail going off to the left and down through the trees. As I took a closer look I could see my tire tracks going down that trail, I had taken a wrong turn onto a cow path like I thought. I got on the bike and 100 yards away was the second water or mud crossing, I don’t remember having to cross this the day before so I was pretty sure I was right about the cow path!

The rest of the ride was a perfect blast, this is one of the best trails I have ever rode, and I have rode them all. Check out the video for more on this ride.

Have You Ever Lost The Trail?

Bill MessickI know this is a strange question to ask, but have you ever lost the trail? I don’t mean get lost on the trail, that only requires going back the way you have come and on a trail there is only 2 ways to go. What do you do if you lose the trail!

This has not only never happened to me and never crossed my mind until today’s ride! I had decided after the boring ride out at Lambert Park, yesterday to go out to the Nebo Loop  and take a ride up the Blackhawk Trail  from the Loafer Mountain Trailhead.  It was getting late by the time I got there, I didn’t get on the trail till 5:20 pm that gave me about 3.5 hours of light left.

Every thing started off pretty normal, till about 15 min in I got a flat on my rear tire and had to stop and replace the tube. The tube I used didn’t have the self healing goo in it so I know it wont be around long. I got back on the pedal and started working my way around the trail. I got to the part of the trail where it drops down to the back side of the mountain where the cows are. That is where it happened! I was dogging in and out of cows on the trail hopping over logs and moving pretty fast.
