The Thunder and Lighting Ride!

Wesanator
This was a very nice ride even after it started raining, the thunder and lighting were very loud and bright, guess we were pushing our luck, top of mountain trees all around and sitting on an aluminum lighting rod LMAO, but alas we made it ok through the rain, bill was right no pics, not till afterward, when i got a few of me and my muddy self.
This was just fun, and then we hit the down hill single track, where the stinging nettle was out in all its glory, I even think I heard bill scream but then again maybe not I might of been the wind I’ll leave it at that. So till next time all happy riding.
Cry Me A Rainbow!

Wes and I took a ride from Timpooneke Road to Grove Creek today, about 10 min from the bowl it started to rain, so I didn’t get any video or pics this time. This was a thunder and lightning storm that hit us, big cracks of thunder were right on top of us. It didn’t seem to bother Sam who was running in the rain loving it. As we got to the top near the campground the rain broke and the sun came out a little and the rain stopped. I knew from previous years that the clay on the downhill was going to stick us to the ground and it did. As we came down the other side the mud built up on our tires to the point that we had to stop and carry them for about 1/3 of a mile.

Timpooneke 2 Grove Creek 6-29-09

I love this ride! This is one of the single funnest rides you can spend time doing, but it takes a shuttle to pull it off right. You start at the top of the Timpooneke Campgrounds where the road turns to dirt at the top of American fork Canyon. You ride up about 35-45 min to the bowl, this is where the snow-slidesin the winter have carved out there spot. then it is another 15-25 min to the top, there is a campground there and nice views. It is pretty much down from here, on a double track road for about 15-25 min, just don’t miss the sign for Grove Creek on your left.
This is where it turns to single track, a little rough at times and usually full of stinging nettle. The drop to the falls or bridge is a blast, just take it easy through the bad spots on the way down, walk it if you have to. The trail drops right down on the Grove Creek parking lot up 500 north in Pleasnt Grove Utah.
