Sundance Resort is a ski resort located 13 miles (21 km) northeast of Provo, Utah on Mount Timpanogos in Utah's Wasatch Range. Skiing began on the site in 1944; actor Robert Redford acquired the area in 1969,[1] and established a year-round resort which would later spawn an independent film festival and a non-profit institute of the same name.

The Mid Mountain Trails feature classic Wasatch singletrack with lots of climbing, descending and ridge-top riding through aspen and pine forests. Be sure to give yourself a bit of time to acclimate before this ride, as the trail sits around 8,000 feet above sea level.

Mount Timpanogos is the second highest mountain in Utah's Wasatch Range (second to Mount Nebo). Timpanogos rises to an elevation of 11,749 feet (3,582 m) above sea level in the Uinta National Forest (now part of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest). With 5,269 feet of topographic prominence, Timpanogos is the 47th-most prominent mountain in the contiguous United States.

At 11928 feet, Nebo is the highest of the Wasatch peaks. (It is some 179 feet higher than the more famous Mt Timpanogos.)
